Fairfield - Yippie Foundation has a number of volunteer positions available for those who want to make a difference in the life of an underserved youth. Yippie Foundation is hosting a “Volunteer Informational” meeting on September 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Yippie Yogurt Job Training Center located at 1955 West Texas Street, #4 in Fairfield. An additional “Volunteer Orientation” will be hosted at Yippie Yogurt on Saturday, September 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for those volunteers wanting to begin this fall.
We welcome all volunteers who are interested in learning about and helping Yippie Foundation serve disadvantaged youth. A variety of volunteer positions are available including administrative assistance, event planning, mentoring, marketing, providing meals and/or transportation, facility maintenance, machine repair, social media, fundraising and more. The number of hours worked per week and the length of service are flexible, but we would prefer that volunteers make a commitment between 3-12 months.
The Yippie Foundation is a local 501 (c) 3 nonprofit whose mission is to provide students with valuable job readiness skills, their food handler’s license, CPR certificate and first aid certificates, mentoring, paid work experience at the Yippie Yogurt Shop, job placement and hope. Yippie graduates have a competitive edge in the entry-level career job market and are getting jobs at The Home Depot, Costco, The Jelly Belly Factory, Marine World and more.
