Check Out Julz Ice Cream & Candy!
Julz Ice Cream and Candies, formerly known as Naidu’s Ice cream has been
a family owned business in West Sacramento for the past 23 years. We
are a wholesale Novelty warehouse specializing in brand names like Blue
Bunny, Good Humor, Its It, Nestle, Haagen Dazs, Wonder, Foster Farms,
Ben & Jerry’s, M & M Mars, Delicias, and Rich’s to name a few.
We serve the local ice cream truck vendors, mini marts, schools,
Churches, Company picnics, and General Public in any event that needs
ice cream.
My father, Mr. Naidu started as an ice cream vendor on the streets of
Dixon, California, 30 years ago. We all grew up selling ice cream on
the streets of Dixon. As soon as we got our driver’s license, our
father gave us an ice cream truck to teach us responsibility and the
value of a hard earned dollar. Even till this day, we are known as THE
ICE CREAM family in Dixon. I remember throwing candies out from the
trucks at the Dixon Mayfair Parade. Good times!!!
Today our pride and joy is this wholesale novelty warehouse, which is
operated by husband Ravi, my two son’s Shivam and Avineet and myself,
Julz. We are open seven days a week from 8am to 1pm, weather
permitting. Our hours change for the winter months. But whether hot or
cold, ice cream is a treat that everyone loves to eat, stop by and check
us out!!!!

Bryan-Braker Adapts To The Needs Of Families
Fairfield - Bryan-Braker adapts to the needs of the families they serve.
While providing funeral, cemetery and cremation services to local
families for over 50 years there have been some changes.
Bryan-Braker realizes the value of personalization and its value to the families we serve. Celebrating
a life lived through gatherings that allow more family participation
and stories about how we remember our loved one are much more common
today. Families are encouraged to bring in photographs of different
times in their lives, doing what they loved to do for hobbies, fun,
traveling, or being with family and friends. The photographs help to
create a fuller picture of the person’s life. The times that made us
laugh and times that made a difference in other people’s lives. From
customized memorial folders to video tributes, we want to create a
memorable service for everyone. This personalization will have them
talking, laughing, crying and sharing memories. Helping
families gather these life mementos, photos, memories, and to plan the
gathering or celebration of one’s life is what we do at Bryan-Braker.
To help deliver this service we have invested in state of the art
audio/visual equipment and have well trained staff that can scan a box
of photo memories and turn them into a 6 to 10 minute video production
that is a beautiful mosaic of the person’s life. This production would
be accompanied by music and is a beautiful tribute to a life lived.
Additional copies of the production can be given to family and friends.
Also, we can create slideshows that can be continually shown on wall
mounted LCD screens throughout the lobby areas during the visitations.
By staying up to date on technology, we have yet another tool for us to
use to meet the needs of today’s families. We know that you only get to
plan the service once and whether the family chooses a small or a grand
send off, Bryan-Braker can help with all the details with special care
of your loved one, assisting with hotel rooms for out of town guests, to
the reception planning after the service.
Another trend is, more and more families are choosing cremation and we
have our own crematory at our cemetery Fairmont Memorial Park and this
is comforting to families knowing their loved one never leaves our care.
I often hear people say ….“There is nothing new in funeral service.” But
that is only true if you’re not open to new ideas. We will always
strive to be the best funeral service provider by having the best
funeral directors and the necessary technology to meet the needs of the
families we are privileged to serve.

Knotty Hair Salon in Suisun City - A Bit of History
Prior to the stock market crash of 1929, business in Suisun was booming. Local historian Jerry Bowen cites a 1925 edition of the River News, which noted that Suisun City's prosperity at the time was evident by the success of its banks. Specifically, the Bank of Suisun, which in 1925 had more than 10 times its original capital stock of $100,000 in its vault.
Founded by R.D. Robbins on February 7, 1876, the Bank of Suisun was the town's first bank and Robbins oversaw its growth as president until his death in 1919. The bank's first location was 607 Main Street.
By 1927, the bank was ready for a new home. It found it, a few doors down on the corner of Main and Sacramento Streets. According to The Heritage Collection, a historical book on Fairfield-Suisun sites and structures, the building was built on the site of the Rummelsburg Dry Goods Store. Typifying the Mediterranean style of the 1920s and 1930s, it was designed with high-arched windows, a low-pitched tile roof, stucco surface walls, and a rectangular floor plan.
Today, some 85 years later, these same architectural features can still be found at 601 Main Street. Paint may have given the exterior a brand new look, but the basic design of the historic 1927 building remains perfectly preserved as Old Town glamour. Fittingly so, since these days Knotty Hair Salon is what buzzes with commerce there.
New owners Justin and Emily Giangrasso set up shop at the corner of Main and Sacramento in 2009, converting the building into a modern beauty salon with vintage touches. Customers can take a step back in time with a visit. The lather room, for example, is built inside the Bank of Suisun's old vault - complete with the original bank doors.
Read more in the Downtown Suisun City Walking Tour Guide.
Knotty Hair Salon is located in historical Suisun City. They are directly across from the beautiful waterfront. In 1927, this building was home to the Bank of Suisun. In 2009, Justin and Emily Giangrasso (owners) transformed this charming old building into a lovely salon with a friendly atmosphere.
Clients are now able to enjoy a relaxing shampoo in the chandelier adorned "Lather Room." At one time this room was the vault of the old bank. Still standing are the vault doors with all of their character and interest. Knotty Hair Salon has experienced stylists who cater to all. They offer a variety of services and specialize in many different areas. We highly recommend scheduling your appointment in advance, but walk-ins are always welcome!

All of our workers are trained, properly equipped and supervised by certified staff while handling all restoration & reconstruction projects. We produce high efficiency, quality work accompanied with superior customer service. We specialize in insurance restoration & reconstruction for damages resulting from Fire, Water, Smoke, Storm, Vandalism and Vehicle impact.
Water damage restoration: There are two large certifying bodies, the IICRC and the RIA, that recommend standards of care. Most companies in the restoration industry use the IICRC procedural standard, which is known as the S500. The S500 indicates the standards and techniques related to the current technology and proven service required to perform water restoration.
Fire damage restoration: Fire losses are often the most complex, after a structure or property has suffered fire damages they typically are accompanied by smoke and water damage. Smoke damage occurs as a direct result from the combustibles being burned and the water damages are a result from the excessive amount of water to extinguish the fire. The combination of these three can leave a property and structure severely distressed and damaged.
Smoke damage restoration: Smoke damage to a home and the restoration/remediation efforts used to properly restore structural or property are predicated and based on the type of combustibles that have produced the smoke and severity of the damage. Having a restoration professional performing the smoke damage remediation using the industries techniques and supplies will ensure the highest quality or removal of stain and odor removal.
Storm damage restoration: Structures or property damaged by rain, wind, hail, or the combination of any fall into this category. Storm damages often result in roofing components being compromised which could result in water intrusions resulting in interior damage. Strong winds can cause structural components to fail and long rains resulting in super saturated soils can also cause water intrusion. Storms can also cause trees to fall and impact a structure. The severity of damages a structure receives from a storm will greatly be impacted by the intensity of the storm and the deficient condition the storm has created. A timely response by trained professionals can often quickly remedy or reduce damages caused to a structure or property.

Commercial Foam Roofing - American Foam Experts
800-281-2349
One of the main advantages of the SPF roof system is that your old roof does not have to be torn off. This means that 98% of the time, the cost of tear-off is eliminated and the environmental cost of disposing in a landfill is also eliminated. The only preparation of the roof prior to spraying is the manufacturer specifications regarding skylights, drains, roof vents, etc… (If your roof is tar & gravel, the gravel is removed prior to spraying.)
Another advantage to foam roofing is the insulation factor. When the SPF is fully formed, which takes about 3 minutes, it becomes a solid insulation which holds an “R” 6.5 value per inch. So, if the foam is sprayed at 1.5 inches, the insulation R value would be around R12. However, in the formula for R value, there is consideration for air passing through the insulation itself. This means that the R value is based on loose insulation (Pink Panther) not solid (closed cell) polyurethane. If we were to use the proper formula for SPF, we would use “K” value rather than R. The result of that formula would give SPF a much higher insulation factor if this were the common measurement for construction insulation values.
If you have a city or county requirement for a particular R value, you may be able to show the building department the difference between R & K and use less SPF than the required R value thickness. In any case, an SPF roof system will give you a huge insulation advantage over any other roof system, both interior heat loss and exterior heat transfer.
You can save up to 50% on your heating and/or air conditioning bills by installing an SPF roof system. PG&E also offers “cool roof” rebates as well as commercial and multi-unit apartment rebates up to .20 cents per square foot. If you’d like to know more about these rebates and your roof is in California, please call (530) 231-5349 or visit the PG&E website.
Ultimately, there are so many advantages to using an SPF roof system on your flat or low pitch roof, that it would be difficult to name them all and give explanations for each one in this article, so I will list a few of the advantages not aforementioned.
• Seamless – An SPF roofing system has no seams and can be sprayed thicker in low areas to promote drainage. There are no additional “weak” areas on the completed SPF roof such as caulking, nails, screws, tar, etc…
• Permanent – Unlike a conventional roofing system, the SPF roof never sees the sun. The sun is the enemy of all roofs as the UV breaks them down over time and requires replacement every 10-15 years. An SPF roof system is painted with a spray applied acrylic elastomeric paint which hides the SPF roof from the sun and reflects UV which slows down the deterioration of the protective coating. Depending on the thickness of the paint, this coating can last as long as 25-30 years without the SPF roof being affected. Most SPF roof warranties will run 10-15 years unlike conventional warranties where there is a product warranty of 20 years, but a workmanship warranty of only 2-5 years. An SPF roof system only needs to be re-coated, not replaced!
• 100% Green Application – Although the chemicals used to create an SPF roof system are petroleum based and is mildly toxic in its liquid form, the SPF roof application is 100% emission free, and there is no “off gassing”. In 2005, the EPA required all foam roofing companies to adjust or change their equipment to spray the new “emission free” formula. Once the application is complete, the fully formed SPF is inert & non-toxic. As a side note, you may hear of “Soy Based” SPF which doesn’t make the roof “more green”. There is a minute amount of soy in the chemicals and is strictly designed for marketing purposes. As mention before, there is a 98% chance that your roof will not need to be torn off and disposed of in a landfill, so even though this is a non-biodegradable product, if you take proper care of your SPF roof system by re-coating every 15 years or whatever the warranty calls for, there is no reason to ever dispose of another flat roof in our already bulging landfills.
• Does not add weight, only structure – SPF itself weighs only about 28lbs. per 100 square foot. However, when sprayed in a monolithic form from edge to edge on your roof, it does not add weight, but structure. You will increase the life and value of your home by adding an SPF roof system.

What to do After Getting the SitePro Inspection Report
A great SitePro Inspection is made up of three components; a snapshot of the building materials and systems in your home, a list of 'deficiencies' from correct or safe building practices, and an education on your homes major systems. The list of 'deficiencies' is often the most concerning to home buyers after a SitePro Inspection as this is what may break a sale or could involve unexpected expenses during the purchase process. So what should home buyers do after they get the SitePro inspection report?
Get All The Information
Everything about a home can be fixed except for its location and no home is perfect under the lens of a SitePro Inspection .
Most home 'deficiencies' are related to changes made by amateurs after
the home was built, neglected maintenance items, or aging systems
needing replacement soon.
Read the SitePro Inspection report and all the written comments from your SitePro inspector to get the most information from the report. Your SitePro inspector and your SitePro Inspection
report should be able to tell you what your next step is for each
deficiency and the degree of urgency a defect has. Some 'deficiencies'
are inexpensive to repair but urgent to repair as they may present a
life safety hazard (e.g. exposed live wires). Other 'deficiencies' are
not immediate life safety hazards but may require budgeting for the
repair such as replacing an old hot water tank that is still fully
functional at the time of the inspection.
Home sellers are also a great source of information on the home. For example, if the SitePro Inspector notices
signs of a past oil heating system, the home seller should be able to
identify if an oil tank has been removed from the site. Home sellers
also should keep copies of warranties and guarantees on work done on the
home. If the SitePro Inspector identifies an installation defect on a new furnace, this may be repairable under the original warranty.
Talk To Your Realtor
You
should have an excellent working relationship with your Realtor if you
are going to have a successful real estate transaction. Experienced
Realtors have dealt with many of the common home deficiencies found in SitePro Inspections in the past and they can offer solutions to you like:
- · Arrange for the seller/builder to fix a deficiency before possession changes
- · Helping you find a contractor or handy person who can fix the deficiency
- · Arrange for more time before removing purchase subjects to investigate the problem(s)
- · Re-negotiating the purchase price of a home
- · Negotiating a Hold-Back in case of premature system failure or future Strata assessments
- · Help You Decide when to remove inspection subjects
Your Realtor can also help give you guidance if the home deficiencies are beyond normal and reasonable repair and perhaps you should consider walking away from the home and looking for another one. Ultimately this decision is up to the client but your Realtor can help you understand what your options are.
Who Should Fix the Deficiencies?
Many
home sellers are quick to suggest they will fix a deficiency rather
than take a hold-back, lower the purchase price, or lose the sale.
While this method may solve the problem, the buyer does not have any
control over who is fixing the problem and the materials used. As many
'deficiencies' in a SitePro home inspection come from
amateur work, the last thing you want is for another amateur to 'fix'
the problem. It is also important that all work is performed by licensed
trades people and that any permits that may be needed are in place.
On existing homes, SitePro Home Inspectors typically recommend that the home buyer has the correct people come in to fix any deficiencies after the home transaction is complete. This allows the future occupant of the home to know that the repairs are done right and will be safe and solid for years to come. If the home is newly built, the builder and their trades people should correct any deficiencies before the transaction is completed.
Professional SitePro Home Inspectors operate under standards of ethics which prevent them from quoting on, performing any repair work, or collecting referral fees for recommending any contractors. This is to protect SitePro home inspection clients who have a lot at stake based on the recommendations of a SitePro home inspection report. If your SitePro home inspector offers to do repairs or have a family member do repairs for a fee, you should throw away the entire inspection as suspect and bring in an independent professional SitePro home inspector for a new inspection.
Call in the Experts
All
repairs should always be performed by licensed professionals. For minor
fixes, many professionals will perform repairs based on an hourly labor
rate plus repair material which they typically will have in their
service vehicle. Don't be surprised if there is a minimum charge for
showing up. Your Realtor or the Better Business Bureau can help you find
a trusted professional if you don't have any personal connections.
If the repair job is beyond a normal service call, it may be necessary to get a few quotes from professionals in your area. Contractor rates can vary by as much as 300% and the quality of labor and materials can vary greatly.
Final Thoughts
As no home is perfect under the lens of a SitePro home inspection, clients will always have to make some decisions about 'deficiencies' found in a SitePro
home inspection report and assume some of the risks and maintenance
expenses with a home purchase. While in some extreme cases the
deficiencies may be severe enough to walk away from a home purchase,
most items are fixable for a very small percentage of the purchase price
of the home or with just a little maintenance time from the new home
buyer.
