Greg Chambers ABC Music Livermore



As an orchestral/classical saxophonist, Greg served as an on-call musician for the New World Symphony in Miami. FL, has been heard on the airwaves of K-Mozart in Los Angeles, has played in the Ginn Resorts Spoleto USA Festival Orchestra, and served as the Saxophone Fellowship student for the 2007 and 2008 Aspen Music Festival, where he was fortunate to work with such renowned performers/conductors as Leonard Slatkin, Michael Stern, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Kathleen Battle.  Greg has studied with Dr. Douglas Masek, William Trimble, Bil Jackson, and John Harle, has performed in masterclasses with Greg Banaszak and Gary Keller. 

As a jazz/pop saxophonist, Greg has worked with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, recorded at Capitol Records in Hollywood, studied with Eric Marienthal, and is releasing his second CD this fall. 

As a teacher, Greg holds a CA teaching credential, has taught music at Hogan High School in Vallejo, CA for 2 years, and has taught private lessons since 2003.  Some of his private students have been chosen to participate in the CBDA All-State Honor Bands and many more were selected to participate in county and regional honor bands.  Greg was featured in Vol. 33 No. 3 of the Saxophone Journal ("A Lesson With Greg Chambers"- by Greg Banaszak) and offers saxophone lessons at ABC Music in Livermore. 

Greg strives to help students discover their potential.  While focusing on repertoire that engages students, facilitates sight-reading skills (through duets, etudes, etc.), and addresses key fundamentals, students are encouraged to discover new material, join/form ensembles, and take ownership of their own growth.  To register for lessons or find out more information, you may contact Greg at:
